Preparing your Caravan for the Season

Some tips for preparing your caravan for the spring:
* Give your caravan a good clean. Make sure you give your cupboards and your fridge a good clean. Leave them open and air out the caravan by opening all the windows and the door. A good vacuum couldn't hurt either.
Give the exterior a good wash using a cleaner like Blue Diamond Caravan Cleaner
* Check the appliances like the fridge and the cooker. Fit your regulator to a gas bottle and make sure there are no blockages. Check all the electrical systems and make sure you test your water system looking for any leaks along the pipes. Winter can do bad things to water pipes.
* Check your tyres. If a caravan has been in storage all winter, the tyres may have become worn. check carefully for any cracks or bulges. Also make sure your tyre pressures match the manufacturers recommendations. You'll find this information in your caravans manual
* Check window and door seals. The seals can start to perish when exposed to constant UV light or the elements. Give them a check and make sure they don't leak.
* Check your lights. Hook up the caravan to your car and just make sure everything is working properly. Check and make sure nothing is cracked or broken.
